SPC US ARMY - VIETNAM Lawrence W. Tedford, 68, died Sunday, November 17, 2002, at an Abilene medical center. Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday in Cedar Hill Cemetery with Rev. H.S. Callahan, Jr. officiating, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory. Lawrence was born to Joseph Perry and Dora Cooper Tedford on March 19, 1934, in Abilene, Texas. He was employed by HEB, retiring after five years. He married Frances Anita Wade on December 6, 1982, in Abilene. He was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church and a U.S. Army veteran. Mr. Tedford was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Raymar Tedford and Joseph Perry Tedford, Jr.; a sister, Helen Stockert; and a brother-in-law, Herman Smith. Survivors include his wife, Anita Tedford of Abilene; three sons, Lawrence W. Tedford, Jr. and James Edward Tedford both of California, and Perry Douglas Tedford of Oklahoma; a daughter, Susan Marie Tedford of California; two sisters, Ida Lee Waltrip of Modesto, California, and Juanita Smith of Abilene; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
