Bio
Harriet Lee Cogbill Howard, 71, of Dumas, Arkansas died Tuesday at Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock. She was born May 5, 1946 in Dallas, Texas, and was a member of Hopedale Missionary Baptist Church. She was a store owner and a retired school teacher, teaching at Dumas Schools and Little Rock schools. She was also a member of the Pine Bluff Car Club. Preceding her in death was her father, Dr. Harry Cogbill, and step father, James E. McLaurin. Survivors included her husband, Marlon Howard of Dumas; mother, Syble Pylant McLaurin of Hamburg, Arkansas; son, Jay (Jeanie) Nuchols of North Carolina; daughter, Donna (Donnie) Godwin of Fayetteville, Arkansas; step daughters, Marla Howard of Star City and Monica (Mark) Pinkett of Conway, Arkansas; sister, Debby (Larry) Sanderlin of Hamburg and six grandchildren. Graveside services were held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, at Heflin Cemetery near Star City, with Bro. Allen Hagood officiating. Arrangements were through Griffin Funeral Service in Star City.
