FLORENCE Services for Mary Alice Lazar Thompson of 1230 Berkley Ave. will be held at 4 p.m. today in Mount Hope Cemetery, Cain Funeral Home is in charge. Memorials may be made to Highland Park United Methodist Church building fund. Mrs. Thompson, wife of the late Roy Thompson, died Friday July 1, 1994. Born in Raleigh, she was a daughter of the late Jamie Tarlton and Mary Alice Jordan Lazar. She retired from the U.S. Department of Agriculture and was a member of the Pilot Club and Highland Park United Methodist Church. Surviving are a son, Billy Jarrell of Florence; daughters, Mary Jarrell of Florence and Claudia Evans of Darlington; brothers, Dr. James Lazar of Columbia and Rev. Julian Lazar of Florence; sisters, Kathleen Baskin of Bishopville, Dorothy Tribble of Alameda, Calf., and Ethel Cherniss of San Leandro, Calif., fout grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
