Bio

From The Daily Herald (Provo, UT) - Tuesday, January 31, 2012: Reeta Merrill Fangel Jones Hansen, slipped away peacefully, surrounded by her family on the afternoon of January 29, 2012 at the age of 85. She was born in Springville, Utah on September 20, 1926 to Robert Warren and Rhoda Ann Allred Merrill. She married Virgel Fay Fangel, and together they had 5 children: Carla Jean (Harold) Chatwin; Barbara Buchanan; Bill (Gaye) Fangel; Julia (Michael) Doering and Raymond (Tiffany) Fangel. Virgel passed away in 1971. In 1975 she married Nile Douglas Jones, and welcomed his son, Doug "DJ" Jones to the family. Nile passed away in 1996. In 1999 she married Don Hansen. Don passed away in 2005. Reeta enjoyed gardening with a green thumb. She loved sewing, and teaching her family to sew. She also loved fishing, but couldn't catch a thing. But her greatest love was spending time with her children and their families. She was a strong, loving woman, and was loved by all. She will be greatly missed. Reeta is survived by her 6 children; 24 grandchildren, 48 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren; 3 sisters, Melba Weight; Wrenna Smith; and Annette Webb. She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 husbands, 3 sisters, 4 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 2, 2012, at 11:30 a.m., in the Windsor 1st Ward, 1505 North 145 East, Orem. Friends may call at the Berg Mortuary of Orem, 500 North State Street, Wednesday evening, from 6-8 p.m., or Thursday morning, at the Ward Chapel, one hour prior to services. Interment, Orem City Cemetery.
