Dorothy (Chovanec) Krenek, 84, of Fayetteville, Texas passed on May 3, 2017 in Austin, Texas. Dorothy was born in Fayetteville, Texas on October 19, 1932 to Peter and Stefina (Zapalac) Chovanec. She married Alvin Krenek on 10/30/1951 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Fayetteville, Texas. Dorothy spent her adult life as a homemaker and a farmer. She truly loved her garden and flowers. She also made some of the most beautiful quilts. She is survived by one daughter, Delores Kubicek and husband, Eugene, of Fayetteville, Texas; two sisters: Annie Knesek and husband, Frank, of Rosenberg, Texas; Henrietta Malota and husband, Justin, of Fayetteville, Texas; one brother, Peter Chovanec, Sr. and wife, Kathy, of La Grange, Texas; three grandchildren: Michelle Weishuhn and husband, Rodney, of Fayetteville, Texas; Eugene Kubicek, Jr. of Fayetteville, Texas and Jonathan Kubicek and wife, Elizabeth, of La Grange, Texas; seven great grandchildren: Melissa, Jessica, Sarah and Kayla Weishuhn, Baylee Kubicek, Rachel and Haven Bull; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Alvin; and one son, Alvin John Krenek, Jr. Visitation will be held at Koenig & Strickland Funeral Home Knesek Chapel in Fayetteville, Texas. Family will receive friends and a rosary will be recited. Funeral services will be held at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Fayetteville, Texas. Burial will follow at St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Christopher House of Austin, 4107 Spicewood Springs Rd., Ste. 100, Austin, TX 78759.
