Bio
Private funeral services were held for Eugene Joe Hejl, 72, of Austin on Saturday, April 22, 2017 at the Masonic Cemetery in Caldwell. Burial services were held by Rev. Joseph Polasek. Eugene was born on September 25, 1944 and was the son of the late John Hejl, Sr. and Eldena (Kallus) Hejl. Eugene lived in Caldwell until 1957 then was admitted into the Austin State School. He spent the remainder of his life at the facility. Eugene is survived by his brother John E. Hejl and one aunt Mrs. Bennie (Emily) Hejl and several cousins. Also by a special friend Penny Rago who helped with his care for many years.
