Bio

Linda Ann Harper, 79, of Iowa Park, Texas, passed away on April 24, 2017 in Wichita Falls, Texas, as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Ann was born on April 2, 1938, and had the distinction of being the first baby born in Wichita Valley Farms, Wichita Falls, Texas. She was the daughter of Jesse B. Lewis and Margie Emma Reynolds Lewis and has been a resident of Iowa Park since 1965. Ann met her husband of nearly 62 years, Robert O. “Bob” Harper, when she was 16 and they married just over a year later, on June 18, 1955, in Wichita Falls, Texas. Ann was a devoted wife and mother to five children, and a loving and doting grandmother and great grandmother. She was gifted with many talents, which included cooking, baking, embroidery and painting, but was especially known as a gifted seamstress, gardener, and prize winning quilter. Few may know, in the midst of all her responsibilities at home, Ann managed to go back to night school when her children were young, to earn her high school diploma, as she believed in finishing what she started. A hobby Ann picked up once her children were grown was tracing her family’s genealogy. She traced the roots of her family and Bob’s family back many generations, always enjoying the hunt and meeting new family along the way. Ann was a member of Faith Baptist Church, Iowa Park, Texas, the North Texas Genealogy Society, Wichita Falls, Texas and Friendly Door, in Iowa Park, Texas. Ann is survived by her husband, Bob, of Iowa Park, Texas; her children, Carol Henry of Crowley, Texas, Susan Ralston and her husband, Terry, of Nocona, Texas, Robert Harper of Baytown, Texas, Cindy Wade and her husband, Stephen, of Burleson, Texas, and James Harper and his wife, Susan, of Kennedale, Texas; her grandchildren, TJ Henry and his wife, Megan, Buddy Henry and his wife, Erin, Peyton Haddock, Daniel Haddock, Leah Morales and her husband Josh, and Brooks Wade; one great-granddaughter, Madelyn; her brother, Benton Lewis and wife, Chris of Wichita Falls, Texas, John Lewis and wife, Virginia of Justin, Texas, and Jeannie Wyatt and husband, Keith of Nocona, Texas. She is preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Margie Elaine Langford;and brother, Shuman Lewis. A graveside service honoring her life will be held on Saturday, April 29, 2017 at 2pm at the Pavilion at Highland Cemetery in Iowa Park, Texas, with Pastor Dennis Neal and Faith Baptist Church Pastor Mr. Tim Franks, officiating.
