Westminster, Texas Gladys Katherine Griffin Fortner, 87, of Westminster, Texas passed away on April 24, 2017. She was born on December 3, 1929, in Westminster, Texas to W. O. Griffin and Emma Cantrell Griffin. She married G. W. Fortner in 1946 and from their union came 6 children. Gladys graduated from Westminster High School and worked at HomeCo in McKinney, TX. for many years. She was the first telephone operator in Westminster, TX. She was a lifelong member of the First Baptist Church of Westminster, TX. She is survived by her sons, brother, 13 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband G.W. Fortner, daughter Ginger Fortner, son Mike Fortner, daughter in law Gloria Fortner, four brothers and four sisters. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 26, 2017, at 3:00pm at Scoggins Funeral Home in Van Alstyne, TX. with burial following at Elm Grove Cemetery in Westminster, TX. The family will receive friends at a visitation on Tuesday, April 25, 2017, from 6:00PM to 8:00PM at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Scoggins Funeral Home & Crematory.
