Bio

Irene L. Wroblewski, 88, of rural Ord passed away on Wednesday, April 19, 2017, at the Valley View Senior Village in Ord. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, April 24, 2017, at St. Josaphat’s Catholic Church in Loup City. Father Richard Piontkowski will officiate. Burial will be in the Ord City Cemetery. Ord Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements. Irene was born January 14, 1929, at Ashton, Nebraska to Joseph and Rose (Urbanski) Sonnenfeld. She lived in Ashton and then moved to North Loup where she received her education. Irene married J. Eugene Psota. To this union four children were born, an infant son, Michael, Leroy and Colleen. They farmed south of Ord. Irene was a homemaker and farmwife. She also worked as a cook at the Loup City Hospital. On July 26, 1968, Irene married Ted Wroblewski at Broken Bow. The couple resided on Ted’s farm near Arcadia. Irene loved the farm life and all the farm duties. She raised chickens, milked cows and had a large garden. She was a member of St. Josaphat’s Catholic Church of Loup City. She was an excellent cook and had a special love for all of the animals on the farm. Survivors include her husband, Ted of Ord; a son, Michael of North Loup; a daughter and son-in-law, Colleen and Richard Hawley of Chase, Kansas; a step-son, Dave Wroblewski and his wife, Peggy of Arcadia; a step-daughter, Evelyn Firsich of Williams, Indiana; 6 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant son; a son, Leroy Psota; two brothers, Martin and Eugene Sonnenfeld; and an infant great-grandson, Parker Holliday.
