Bio

Otto Crofutt was born March 1, 1904 at Wagner to Ira and Henrietta Morton Crofutt. At the age of four he moved with his parents to western Nebraska where he grew to manhood. He was one of twelve children. In 1923 he married Grace Donohoe. To this union eight children were born. He worked for various ranches, the last 24 years he worked for the Joe Vinton ranch of Eli, Nebraska. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Charles, William and Willis; two sisters, Bertha Hobbs and Else Teske. Surviving are two brothers, Frank of Gainseville, Mo. Owen of Littlerock, California; also four sisters, Mabel Lamb of Custer SD, Ruth Donohoe of Walden, Colo., Mary Zoucha and Eudora Underhill, both of Gainseville, Mo., one daughter Doris died in 1945. Surviving are two sons, Paul of Keystone, Nebrasks and Wayne of Littlerock California. five daughters, Edna Smith of Fort Collins Colo., Eileen Robertson of Roundup, Montana, Violia Goldsmith of Kansas City, Mo., Ruth Warner of Arlita, California and Barbara Robinette of Palmdale, California. There are 36 grandchildren and 31 great grand children. Otto Crofutt died November 7, 1979 at Gordon Memorial Hospital at Gordon, Nebraska. He died from COPD. Funeral services were conducted at St. Leo's Catholic Church in Gordon. Father Walyter Phillips officiated. Burial was in Gordon Cemetery.
