(11/30/2002) Gene Allen 'Pete' McNeil, of Austin, born in Kerens, Texas, on February 5, 1924, went to be with his Savior on November 29, 2002, at the age of 78. He was preceded in death by his son, Dwight McNeil. Mr. McNeil proudly served his country in the US Navy during World War II. He was a business representative for Carpenter's Local Union #1266 in Austin for 17 years and an International Representative for Carpenter's International Union for 15 years. As a member of Austin Masonic Lodge No. 12, A.F.&A.M, Mr. McNeil was a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason, a member of the Austin Scottish Rite Bodies and the Ben Hur Shrine. Visitation for family and friends will be held Sunday, December 1, 2002, between 6:30 and 8:30 p.m. at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home in Pflugerville. Funeral services will be held at the Memorial Chapel of Cook-Walden/ Capital Parks Funeral Home on Monday, December 2, 2002, at 10:00 a.m. with Reverends Arthur Fray, Al Cummins, and Bill Bolick officiating. Interment will follow at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery.
