Bio
Patricia Marie (Wozny) Gabriel passed away at the Good Samaritan Home in Osceola on Friday. Services were held Monday April 3 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Shelby. Interment was in the Sacred Heart cemetery. Dubas Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements. Pat was born September 22, 1935 to Joseph and Valeria (Hebda) Wozny in Columbus. She attended elementary school at St. Anthony's and graduated in 1954 from St. Bonaventure in Columbus. On August 9, 1956 she was united in marriage to Jerome "Lefty" Gabriel at St. Anthony's in Columbus. To this union 6 children were born. Pat was a homemaker. The family lived on the farm near Shelby until 1960 when the moved into Shelby. They then moved to Ong in 1963, and then back to Shelby in 1967. She resided in Shelby until May 2014 when she moved to the Assisted Living and then to the Good Samaritan Center in Osceola until her passing. Pat enjoyed her grandkids' activities, watching sports, especially Husker football, Royals and Cubs baseball, playing cards, bowling and bingo. She was a volunteer with the reading program at the Shelby Public Schools. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, active in choir, being a lector and St. Ann's Guild, Shelby Legion Auxiliary and Shelby Booster Club. She is preceded in death by her husband, infant sons Michael Lee and James Jerome, infant great grandson Dominic Jerome Nordboe, parents Joseph and Valeria Wozny, parents-in-law Albert and Matilda Gabriel, sister-in-law Marietta and Bill Peters.
