Web site: http://rootsweb.ancestry.com/~neplatte/vitals/vitals1955.html The Columbus Daily Telegram, November 21, 1955 KOHLUND--Mrs. Frank Kolund [sic] dies; services on Wednesday Mrs. Frank Kohlund, 61, Columbus, died suddenly of a heart attack about 6 a.m. today in a Norfolk hospital. She had been ill the past year and a half. Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Bonaventure Catholic church with the Rev. Fr. Roch Hettinger, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the St. Bonaventure cemetery. The body will lie in state at the McKown Funeral chapel from 1 p.m. Tuesday until the hour of the services. Rosary will be prayed at 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral chapel. Mrs. Kohlund, the former Eleanor Cecilia Otterpohl, was born July 5, 1894 at Madison, the daughter of Bernard and Mary Otterpohl. She attended school at Madison. On Feb. 18, 1914 she was married to Frank Kohlund at Madison, and they lived on farms in that community until 1932 when they came to Columbus. Mr. Kohlund died Feb. 27, 1954. Mrs. Kohlund was a member of St. Bonaventure Catholic church and St. Anne's society. She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. W.D. (Doris) McDonald of Columbus; a son, Frank, of McCook; her foster mother, Mrs. Martha Otterpohl of Denver; three sisters, Mrs. Hilda Ganser of Grand Junction, Colo., Miss Lucille Otterpohl and Mrs. Gunda Swarens, both of Denver; and four grandchidren. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Mrs. C.H. (Ramona) Nichols, who died in April, 1955; her parents and a half-brother, Edward Otterpohl.
