Bio

Willard "Bill" E. Doering, 85 of Springfield, MO went to meet his Savior on Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at Mercy Hospital. He was born November 13, 1931 to Charlie and Rosilee Doering in Georgetown, Texas. Bill graduated from Concordia High School, Austin, Texas in 1948 and Concordia Teacher's College, River Forest, IL in 1952 and did graduate studies at SIU, Edwardsville, IL in 1966. Bill was united in marriage on August 16, 1953 in Centralia, IL to Louise Ann Rebstock. He taught 14 years at Ascension Lutheran School in Houston, TX and continued teaching for 11 years at Webster Gardens Lutheran School in Webster, Groves, MO. He was then called to Trinity Lutheran Church, Springfield, MO as DCE for 10 years. Bill was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church and often attended Redeemer in Nixa. He is preceded in death by his parents; brother Clarence; and sister Beatrice. Bill is survived by his wife Louise; two sons and one daughter ; one brother; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and many nephews and nieces. Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday in Redeemer Lutheran Church with the Rev. Jeff Sippy officiating, under the care of Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home. Burial will be in Columbarium Cemetery. Lunch will follow in the church Family Center. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Redeemer Lutheran Church, or Redeemer Lutheran School, 2852 S. Dayton Ave., Springfield, MO 65807.
