Judith Carolyn Lacy Boshell - "Judi", aka Memaw Judi passed away March 27th, 2017, in Van Alstyne at the age of 71. Judi was born in Dallas, TX to John and Dixie Lacy. She was the youngest of her 12 siblings, Naomi Rhea, Bud Lacy, Ray Louise Miller, Johnnie Lacy, Clara Sacks, Doris Knepper, Peggy Fonda, Patsy Mooney, Bill Lacy, and Roy Max Lacy. She married the love of her life, Lawrence "Larry" Boshell on May 21, 1969. They had four daughters. She was also fortunate enough to reconnect with a daughter that she gave up for adoption. Judi was also blessed with two granddaughters, who she affectionately called her "heartbeat" to anyone who asked. She was also fortunate enough to have a step-grandson. Memaw was known to many as a grandmother figure. Memaw was as colorful as a box of crayons and in her words, "crazier than nine kinds of hell!" She loved wearing her pajamas aka "jommies," Pall Mall cigarettes, coffee, The Dallas Morning News and gambling. She loved music, but was partial to old country, Gospel and Elvis. Her door was open to anyone who needed a place to rest their head. Her love for strays, both people and animals, was unconditional. She did not have a judgmental bone in her body because nine times out of ten, she's probably 'been there, done that' too! Judi loved a good family gathering, especially at her nephew's party barn. To know Memaw was to love her. She is survived by her husband, aka "Padre" of Anna, four daughters, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family and her beloved fur babies, Yogi and Happy. Memaw loved receiving flowers, so feel free to shower her in her favorite, the Yellow Rose of Texas. Family and Friends will be received Thursday, March 30th from 6pm-8pm at Scoggins Funeral Home in Van Alstyne, TX. Services will be at 2pm on Friday, March 31st at Scoggins Funeral Home Chapel with graveside services to follow at the family cemetery in Altogo, east of McKinney. Arrangements are under the direction of Scoggins Funeral Home & Crematory 637 W. Van Alstyne Parkway, Van Alstyne, TX 75495.
