Bio

Memorial services were held at the Cooper Cemetery Chapel, U.S. 190 West for Billy Arville Wingate, who passed away in Houston, Texas, on Feb. 24, 2014. Billy was born in Pitkin on Sept. 24, 1932. He served in the US Air Force as a Senior Medical Admitting Specialist from 1951 until his honorable discharge in 1953. He then moved to Houston where he eventually became co-owner of CSC Rebar, a steel and fabricating company, which he operated for 60 years until his passing. Billy was a long-time member of the Sagemont Church in Houston. He is survived by his wife of 37 years; a son; and two daughters; three brothers; One sister of Tiger, Ga.; as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
