Web posted August 22, 2006 SHERMAN, Texas -- Memorial services for Clarence Sonny "Clay Tober" Steudeman will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 23, 2006, at the Greater Life Church in Sherman, Texas. Born on Jan., 21, 1939, in Ardmore to Marion Houston and Wanda Steudeman, he passed away on Aug. 19, 2006, in Southmayd, Texas, after a brief bout with cancer. He was a songwriter and singer who toured most of the United States with his wife, Eunice, by his side. He released two albums during their time together. He created many handsome wood carvings, which he sold and gave to family and friends. His travels are over, the journey has ended. He's in the Lord's hands now. He is survived by his wife of 14 years, Eunice, Southmayd; two children, Houston Clay Steudeman, Denison, Texas, and Clineth Gayle Hart, Ardmore; two siblings, Lou Huckaby, Lone Grove, and Marion Steudeman, Oklahoma City; six grandchildren, Brianna, Cole and Clayton Steudeman, Julie and John Hart, and Jennifer Turner; two great-grandchildren, Madalyn and Simon Hart; 11 stepgrandchildren; and three stepgreat-grandchildren.
