Bio

Charles was the son of Jeremiah Milton Salyer & Sarah Elizabeth Ramey Salyer. He married Dewey Lee Burnett, the daughter of Simon A. & Minnie L. Shell Burnett, on August 16, 1916 in Scott County, Virginia. The couple were the parents of Charles N., Dorothy Irene, Ralph Howard, Edna Lucille, Raymond Eugene and Carl Salyer. Mr. Salyer earned his living by working, as a coal miner, for the Blue Diamond Coal Company. He was a resident of Coeburn, Virginia, when he was admitted to East Tennessee Baptist Hospital for surgery. He passed away from the effects of post-operative complications.
