Dorothea Jean Clements October 22, 1925 - March 11, 2017 Dorothea J. Clements, age 91, passed away Saturday, March 11, 2017 in Childress, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, March 16, at the Central Christian Church with Rev. Roger Simmons officiating. Burial will follow at Childress Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will be held at the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel from 6 – 8 pm on Wednesday, March 15. Dorothea was born October 22, 1925 in Kirkland, TX to Odis Raymond and Amanda Katherine (Sullivan) Coats. Dorothea was married to her first husband Robert on May 3, 1943 in Hollis, Oklahoma. Years later, she married her second husband, Bruce. She was a member of Central Christian Church. She served as Deputy in The Order of the Eastern Star and as the President of Business and Professional Women’s Group. Dorothea loved to do arts and crafts and painting. She was also a great cook, a loving mother and adoring grandmother. Dorothea was preceded in death by her husbands, Robert Clements and Bruce Clements; parents, Odis and Amanda Coats; and brother Billy Coats. Survivors include: Son, Jerry Lynn Clements of Otela, Florida; 3 Daughters, Karen Ely of Childress, Texas; Nikki Kaye Gailey of Carrollton, Texas; Chris Snapp of Childress, Texas; 9 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; Numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
