From Porter Loring Mortuaries: Robert "Bob" Woltersdorf, born on January 26, 1930 and passed away on September 18, 2016 at the age of 86. Bob was a retired Senior Master Sergeant for the United States Air Force where he served his country for 38 years, 9 months and 28 days. While simultaneously serving in the military, he built Bob Woltersdorf Transmission Service, providing unexcelled workmanship to the community from 1954 to 1999. Bob had a gifted mind and career, holding certifications in all aspects of automotive craftmanship and becoming a Master Mason of the 32nd degree - a brotherhood of which he was a member of for more than 50 years. In addition to owning his own transmission service, Bob worked on the fabrication and restoration of classic cars, bringing them back to their former beauty. He also found peace in ranching on his own farm in Yancey, TX. Bob was a member of many organizations including the following: Better Business Bureau of San Antonio, Chamber of Commerce for the United States of America, Independent Garagemens Association of Texas, Automotive Service Association, Alamo City Horseless Carriage Club, Texas Farm Bureau and Highland Hills Masonic Lodge #1373. Bob is preceded in death by his parents, Norwin Otto Woltersdorf and Annie Laurie Herrmann Woltersdorf, and wife, Shirley Ann Holcombe Woltersdorf. He is survived by his children, Sally and Lou Lopez, Becky and Chuck Eastwood; six grandchildren, Amanda, Jake, and Tony Lopez, Justin, Katelyn and Brandon Eastwood; brothers, Eddie Woltersdorf, Jimmy Woltersdorf and R.C Woltersdorf. A visitation will be held on Friday, September 23, 2016 from 11:30AM-1:00 PM at the Schertz Funeral Home Chapel with the funeral service to begin at 1:00 PM. Pastor Skip Courter will be officiating. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery with Military honors. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to Gentiva Hospice.
