The (Council Bluffs, Iowa) Daily Nonpareil May 28, 1969 BUS DRIVER TO RECEIVE HERO AWARD CARSON - Carson-Macedonia school bus driver Lynn Frank of Oakland will receive a meritorious award Wednesday at commencement services. Frank, 43, was the driver of the school bus carrying w0 children that narrowly escaped plunging through a bridge into Graybill Creek Feb. 26th. Four students were injured when the back wheels of the bus dropped through the water and ice weakened bridge. The award will be presented by a representative of Employers Mutual insurance Co.,the firm that handles transportation for the school. Frank is responsible for saving the bus full of students "because of expert driving," according to principal Don Moxley. Frank has been driving for the school about 6 years, Moxley said.
