Bio
Roy Kittrell Bailey was one of seven children born to Willis M. Bailey and Eliza (Lila) Grimes Bailey. He was preceded in death by Grandparents Peter C. and Rebecca Pickard Robertson Bailey and Samuel H. and Eleanor C. Cooper Grimes all of the Mt. Joy Area. When both of Roy's parents died in 1909 this young family moved to Florence, Alabama where all the boys found work and a sister, Beatrice, kept the home. When a new foundry open in Lewisburg, they all went there because it was closer to their Mt. Joy home. This stove factory changed names several times over the year and was better known in the past as Heil Quaker. Roy worked there for 48 years. On March 11, 1920 Roy married Maudie Mai Waldrep of Florence, Alabama. Roy and Maudie had nine children. The children of this marriage are: Lewis S. Bailey(1921-1931), William Bert Bailey(1923-1982), Elmer J. Bailey(1925-1926), Floyd K. Bailey(1927-1982), Thelma Christine Bailey Minor(1929-1992), Edward Bernard Bailey(1931-2003), Roy Wayne Bailey(1933-2007), Maudie Marie Bailey Walker(1937-living), Jerry Leonard Bailey(1939-2011). ∼ unmarked grave (Son of Willis McKinley Bailey and Eliza A.
