Wanda Faye Slovak, 84, passed away in Ennis, Texas, on Saturday, February 18, 2017. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m., Wednesday, February 22, 2017, in St Joseph Cemetery. Wanda was born in Ennis, Texas, to the late Fred and Clara (Branch) Dixon. She grew up in Ennis and graduated from Ennis High School in 1953. Wanda married John Aton Slovak on June 14, 1958, and they made their home in Ennis. She was a member of the St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, KJZT, VFW Auxiliary and the Catholic Daughters. Wanda enjoyed playing Bingo. She is preceded in death by her husband, John Slovak on April 6, 1987; and three brothers. Survivors include her sisters, Helen Gullion Stroope and husband, Jack, and Betty Hall; sisters-in-law, Helen Dixon and JoNell Dixon; numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
