Son of Reuben Lee Anderson and Euphia Ann Brummett Served with the 338th Bombardment Squadron 96th Bomb Group. Armorer gunner with the Floyd B Whaley Crew (B-17G 44-8109 no nickname known). Anderson was the only member of the 10-man crew that did not survive the crash. The other nine were held as prisoners of the Germans in Stalag Luft One, Barth, Germany. until they were liberated in May 1945. Crew members believe he was killed by civilians and buried somewhere near Bebra, Germany.
