Ava Irene "Granny" Sherbourne of Fort Gibson, OK passed away on Saturday, January 13, 2007 in Fort Gibson, OK. She was the daughter of James & Katherine (New) Woodall of Madera, CA born January 27, 1926. She attended school in Ray, OK. She was a devoted homemaker. She dedicated her life to her family and making cookies for everyone. She was "Granny" to everyone who met her. Mrs. Sherbourne is survived by her sons and their wives: Gary & Kathy Emerson of Crescent City, CA; Bob & Sheila Sherbourne of Muskogee, OK; Larry & Raylene Sherbourne of Iowa Park, TX; Steve & Pat Sherbourne and Randy & Wilma Sherbourne of Fort Gibson, OK; ten grandchildren & spouses: Darrell Emerson, Tina & Jason Moon, Tanya Sherbourne & Mark Wicks, Bobby & Darla, Chris Kristene', Carlon & Melissa, Chaz & Summer, Daniel, Amanda and Hannah Sherbourne; six great grandchildren: Maddie and Mason Moon, Haley Beau Hunter, Brylene Sherbourne, Anthony Mayo and numerous exteded family. She is preceded in death by her husband Pappa Gene, one daughter, Bonnie Lynn Sherbourne, special companion, her dog, "Crickett"; her parents; four brothers, Everett, Gene, Royse and Lee Woodall; five sisters, Stella Newton, Isa Sherbourne, Pauline Snuder, Ruby Gamble and Juanita Vance. Funeral services for Mrs. Sherbourne will be held at graveside at 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 19, 2007 at National Cemetery, Fort Gibson, OK with Reverend Kelly Payne officiating. Pallbearers will be Steve, Randy, Chris, and Bob Sherbourne, Anthony, Donald and Ronald Mayo. Honorary pallbearers are Gary Emerson, Bob and Larry Sherbourne, Mark Wicks, George, Glenn and Chester Mayo, Larry Montgomery and grandsons.
