Melvin's obituary was added to his memorial on 10-23-2022 ---Judy Johnson Melvin D. Pospisil, 69, of Norfolk died Feb. 16, 2017, at his home. A private family service will be held at a later date and burial will be in Prospect View Cemetery, Pierce. He was born Jan. 24, 1948, to Elmer and Catherine (Vyhlidal) Pospisil of Norfolk. He attended rural schools and graduated from Osmond High School in 1966 and served in the United States Army from June 3, 1966 to June 2, 1969. He served in Vietnam. After the service, Melvin worked various jobs in the Norfolk area. He worked at Gillette Dairy and Lindsey Manufacturing before moving to Phoenix to work in warmer weather. He moved back to Norfolk in 1998 when he retired. Melvin enjoyed watching all sports, Husker football, and sports trivia. He was always interested in how his nieces and nephews did in sports. Survivors include his sister Jan (John) Heller of Battle Creek; brother Steve (Jane) Pospisil of Belden, sister Julie Hrbek of Stanton and brother Rick (Bonnie) Pospisil of Pierce along with numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Parents Elmer and Catherine, brother Marvin Pospisil and brother-in-law Don Hrbek.
