~Married Gladys Cave on 13 October 1934~ From The Belleville Daily Advocate, 31 Oct 1946 Coroner C. C. Kane late yesterday afternoon held an inquest in the Gundlach and Company Funeral Home on the body of Clarence "Jack" Vandeveer, lunch room proprietor of 8629 West Main Street, the jury returning a verdict that death resulted from a gunshot wound in the head, self inflicted in his home with suicidal intent. Vandeveer was found at 5:15 Tuesday afternoon in the kitchen of his home by his wife, who had heard the shot. In a note he left on the kitchen stove, he indicated that he planned to take his life. He died in St. Elizabeth's Hospital at 8 o'clock Tuesday night. Funeral will be held at 3 o'clock tomorrow afternoon from the funeral home to Walnut Hill Cemetery. Rev. B. J. Koehler officiating.
