KASHA Mr. Mary Jaannatta Kasha (nea Proudfoot), of Lacomba passed away peacefully on December 16. 1990 at the Ponoka General Hospital at the age of 90 yeara. Mary was born In a log cabin five mllea west of Lacombe. She was the eldest child of John A. and Edna (DeQeer) Proudfoot. Mary attended Camroae Normal School and taught for five years. In 1930 she marrldd Clarence, and they farmed In the Canyon and Lakeside districts and also Just West of Lacombe. They retired to Lacombe In 1969 where she was very active In Kozy Korner and the Community. Mary was predeceased by her husband Clarence, sister Iva and five brothers; Harry, Percy. Cecil, Donald and Lawrence and her grandson Dale Kasha. She is survived by her three children; Ronald (Marlon) Kasha of LacombeArizona, Kenneth (Marlon) Kasha of Guelph, Ontario and Nina (Brian) Brown of Surrey, B.C. She Is sadly missed by her eight grandchildren; Lorelei (Ken) Jones and sons Wesley & Gregory of Mississauga, David (Robyn) Kasha and daughter Karina of Guelph, Kim (Danny) Robertson and daughters Kasha and Danniele of Surrey, Karl Brown of Surrey, Karolee (Larry) Zawislak of Regina, Kevin (Kim) Kasha of Regina, Keith Kasha of Regina, Kent Kasha of Prague, The Czech Republic. Mary leaves three sister-in-laws; Mary Scally (Proudfoot) of Scotland, Betty Proudfoot of Calgary and Margaret Proudfoot of Rimbey, as well as many loving nieces, nephews and friends. In passing, this wonderful lady and matriarch leaves a legacy of love and community enrichment. Funeral services will be held from St. Andrews United Church, 5226-51 Avenue, Lacombe on Saturday, December 21, 1996 at 1:30 p.m. Interment will follow in the Fairview Cemetery, Lacombe. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alberta Heart and Stroke Foundation, 101, 5208-53rd Ave., Red Deer, Alberta T4N 5K2 or to the charity of the donor's choice.
