Bio

Elsie Pauline Gunter Smithson, age 91, of Marietta, died February 6, 2017. Private services were held at Pine Ridge Memorial Park, Kennesaw Ga. Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Smithson was a native of Cannon County, TN and was married to Andy Smithson for 65 years. They worked and raised their family in the Detroit, Michigan area. She worked at Chrysler Corp. for 30 years before retiring to Marietta in l984. She was much loved by her family and will be missed. She is preceded in death by her husband Andy. Survivors include her children Jerry Smithson of Canton and Elaine Phillips (Jim) of Marietta; grandchildren Chad (Carey) Phillips, Craig (Alyson) Phillips; great grandchildren Ansley, Harper, Samuel, and Ceiba Phillips. She is also survived by her sister Irene Hibdon of Michigan.
