David J. Placzek, 59, of Omaha, Nebraska passed away Wednesday, January 8, 1997 at Bergan-Mercy Hospital in Omaha. He was born January 9, 1937 in Loup City, Nebraska to Stanley J. and Annastasia M. (Zakrzewski) Placzek. David was a veteran of the United States Army during the Korean Conflict and a retired employee of the Omaha Public Schools. He was preceded in death by father Stanley J. Placzek in August 1991. Survivors include wife Carolyn of Omaha; son and daughter-in-law Dan and Kris Placzek; son Matthew Placzek and fiancee Linda Gunia; daughter and son-in-law Janet and Jim McWilliams; daughters Rhonda Placzek of Jonesboro, 6A and Brenda Placzek; mother Stasia Placzek of Omaha; sister and brother-in-law Maryann and Bob Barrier of Colorado Springs, CO; grandchildren Jake and Olivia Placzek and Kristin and Shaun McWilliams; mother-in-law Anna Janda. The visitation and vigil service were both held Friday, January 10 at the Bethany Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services were Saturday, January 11 at Bethany Funeral Home Chapel to Saint Stanislaus Catholic Church for Mass of Christian Burial. Interment followed at Saint John's Cemetery in Bellevue, Nebraska with Military Honors by South Omaha American Legion Post No. 331. The family requests memorials be made to Saint Stanislaus Church Endowment Fund.
