Kathryn Estep, 61, of Marlin, passed away Wednesday, September 28, 2016 at her residence with her loving family by her side. A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM, Sunday, October 2, 2016 at the First Baptist Church in Marlin with the Reverend David Harlow officiating. The family will receive friends from 3:00 – 5:00 PM, on Saturday, October 1st at Adams Funeral Home. Mrs. Estep was born on December 23, 1954 in Corpus Christi, Texas to Leroy and Louise LaVerne (Harvey) Gassett. She served her country in the United States Navy where she met her husband; they were married on September 21, 1974 in Honolulu, Hawaii and they celebrated over 42 wonderful years together. Mrs. Estep was a retired public school teacher, she loved to travel and write; she has published a children's book but her true love was her family. She was a member of the Falls Community Hospital Auxiliary, American Legion, Delta Kappa Gama Society International, Beta NU Chapter #61 and the First Baptist Church. Her parents and granddaughter; Madeline Grace, preceded her in death. Survivors include her husband, a son, a daughter, a brother, three grandsons, a granddaughter, a niece, a nephew and numerous dear friends. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Falls County American Legion Post 31, P.O. Box 781, Marlin, Texas 76661 or to the Samaritan House, 162 Live Oak Street, Marlin, Texas 76661.
