Bio

Chapel Rites for Eva Robertson Eva B. Robertson, the daughter of Harvey and Daisy Lynch Smith, was born June 8, 1901 in Custer County and died January 26, 1979 at the Valley County Hospital at the age of 77 years. Her early life was spent in Custer County where she attended and graduated from what was known at the Dry Valley Rural Public School. On November 5, 1921 she was united in marriage to Ivan E. Robertson at Broken Bow. After marriage, they made their home on a farm near Arcadia. In 1930, they moved to California. They lived there for seven years and then returned to Valley County where they again were engaged in farming until 1947 when they moved to Ord and owned and operated the Diner Cafe. Mrs. Robertson was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Ord, the Presbyterian Women's Association and also a member of a circle. Survivors include one son, Charles of Riverside, CA; one daughter, Mrs. Doris Johnson of Rising Sun, MD; six grandchildren; one great granddaughter; and one brother, Kenneth Ray Smith of Hermiston, OR. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ivan on July 10, 1964; her parents; one son, Harold; one grandson and six brothers. Funeral services were held Monday, January 29 at 2 pm at the Ord Memorial Chapel and burial followed at the Ord City Cemetery. The Ord Quiz -Thur, Feb 1 1979, Pg 6, Col 3
