Moore.—Alice Josephine Moore, nee Gridley, was born February 23, 1867, H,L Springfield. Illinois. As a young girl, she moved with her parents to Detroit Lakes Minnesota, where she was married on Christmas day, 1887, to Henry Moore. Later they moved to Park Rapids, where they resided for some years before returning- to Detroit Lakes. Before coming to Pennington County, Minnesota in 1937 they lived for some time at Dunn Center, North Dakota. Since that time she has made her home with her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Hilmer Carlson, where she quietly fell asleep in Jesus, February 21, 1940. She is survived by her husband, six sons and two daughters: Albert and Mrs. Maude Jorgensen of Dunn Center, North Dakota; Eugene and Sylvester of Stacy, Minnesota; Harley of San Francisco, California; Merrill or Goodridge, Minnesota.: Earl of Guernsey, Wyoming; and Mrs. Carlson of Thief River Falls. Besides these she leaves to mourn one brother, two sisters and seventeen grandchildren. When she was quite young she gave her heart to God and was baptized by Rider Flaiz at the Lake Eunice church. Ever since she han remained a faithful member of the Seventh-day Adventist church. The service wng conducted from the Larson Funeral Home at Thief River Falls, but burial was in Oak Ridge cemetery at Detroit Lakes. The writer spoke words of comfort to the manv relatives, church members and friends who had gathered to pay their last respects. David Gulbrandson (Northern Union Outlook 9 April 1949)
