Bio

Lowell J. Myers, 67, of 940 S. Kansas Ave., died Friday, April 21, 1989, at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Grand Island. Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at the Butler-Volland Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. W.C. Westman officiating, Burial wth military rites will be at Parkview Cemetery. Mr. Myers was born Nov. 7, 1921, in Hastings. A Navy veteran serving during World War II, he married Ailleen L. Gaunaird June 7, 1940. She died March 9, 1975. He was a mechanic at Rutt's Auto in Hastings until retiring. A lifelong resident iof Hastings, he also was a member of the Eagles, VFW, American Legion and DAV. Survivors are four sons, Lowell of Ohiowa, Dale of Blue Hill and Don and Rodney, both of Hastings; eight daughters, Irene Buss, Mrs William (Lola) Spooner Sr., Susan Holmes, Carol, Mrs. John (Helen) Dodds and Mrs. Douglas (Dee) Johnson, all of Hastings, Mrs. Dennis (Joyce) Dyer of Chandler, Ariz.; and Mrs. Robert (Mary) Jones of St. Augustine, Fla.; two sisters, Iva Ruckman of Sale Lake City and Delores Brehm of Sierra Vista, ARiz.; three brothers, Wendell of Shawnee, Okla., Williams of Marshfield, Wis., and Don of Phoenix, Ariz; 33 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren. Memorials may be given to the family.
