Bio

Monte V. Ronzzo, 78, of Grand Island passed away Thursday, Feb. 2, 2017, at CHI Health St. Francis in Grand Island. Memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 17, at Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Chapel. Pastor Mark Oberbeck will be officiating. Burial of cremated remains will be at a later date. Monte was born in Burwell to Virgil M. and Merry (Mickie) Shirley Ronzzo on Dec. 15, 1938. He entered the United States Air Force in 1956 and was honorably discharged in 1960. He was married to Peg Allision, and to this union three children were born, Elizabeth, Vicki, and Monte G. Monte worked many years at Diamond Construction until he had to retire due to his health. Monte loved to study the Bible, work in his shop, and play with his four-legged friend, Ashia. He was able to teach her many tricks. He also enjoyed his time with his best friend of 30 years, Marianne. Survivors include his best friend, Marianne Straka; half sister, Sheree Brown of Ord; four half brothers, Larry Ronzzo of Idaho, Ken Ronzzo of California, Jerry Ronzzo of Omaha, and Bill Ronzzo of Ord; and many loving cousins. Monte was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Elizabeth; and son, Monte G.
