Roy Souther, 95, of Dallas passed away on Monday August 17, 2015 at his residence in Dallas. He will always be remembered as a kind, loving, generous, son, brother, husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, and great grandfather. He was born September 14, 1919 to John and Ola Souther in Rio Vista, Texas. He survived the Great Depression and went on to study aviation and joined the Navy in 1942 and served until December 8, 1945. After serving his country, he resided in Dallas. He worked in aviation at Love Field in Dallas for over 40 years. Roy met Emilene Core Souther on a blind date in 1954 and was married at her brother, Everett Core's house on August 27, 1955. She preceded him in death on May 9, 2006. He lived in his big home in Preston Hollow for over 60 years. He loved fishing and bird hunting. At the ripe age of 95, his doctor asked if he knew what season it was right now and he replied, "Dove Season".
