Francis Luckey, 97, of Raymore, Missouri passed away on January 10, 2017 at his daughter's home. Mr. Luckey was born on July 18. 1919 in Glen Elder, Kansas to Weldon Wilbur Luckey and Florence Luckey (Deeds). Francis worked on his Uncles farm in Stockton Kansas until he joined the US Army in Sept 1940. During WWII he served in the Pacific Theater with the 6th Infantry Red Star Division in New Guinea and the Philippines. In 1945 Francis returned to the United States. After being discharged from the Army Francis settled in Denver Colorado where he met, and on June 15, 1948 married Victoria Margaret Walahoski. Francis got a job at the Gates Rubber Company and while working there went to Watch Making School. He also worked for Sunflower Army Ammunition for one year before going to work at the Bendix Kansas City location in 1955. Francis retired from Bendix in 1985 to his home in Independence Missouri. He is survived by his son Jerome Luckey(and wife Bridget) of Independence; daughter Janiece Cole(and husband Kerry) of Princeton Missouri, daughters Catherine and Caroline Luckey of Raymore Mo, a Brother Weldon Luckey of West Olive Michigan, his 3 grandsons and 1 granddaughter, 7 great grandkids, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his Father and mother and his wife Victoria, brothers and sisters Blanche Ester, John Wilbur, Lawrence Ellsworth, Medora Lucille, Noel Benjamin, Nola Marie, Lois Maxine, and Bernice Marlene. Funeral Mass for Mr. Luckey will be Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at 11:00am at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Lee's Summit, Missouri. Visitation will be from 10:00am-11:00am at the church. Interment Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery.
