Kavan 1704 1st St., died Tuesday as a result of an automobile accident at Fremont. He was 78. Funeral services are set for 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Anthony's Catholic Church with the Rev. Bruno Savage officiating. Burial will be in St. Bonaventure Cemetery. Rosary will be prayed at 7:30 Thursday evening at the Gass-Haney funeral Home where the body will lie in state after 1:30 p.m. Thursday He was born Aug. 17, 1900 in Butler County near Edholm and attended Octavia High School. He was a retired farmed [sic], having farmed in Colfax County northwest of Schuyler. He is survived by several nieces and nephews. Two brothers and one sister preceded him in death.
