Bio
DeLoris Ann Bluhm was the first-born child of Leo and Anna (Luebbe) Bluhm. She was born on a farm west of Goehner but moved to Beaver Crossing during her first year of life. DeLoris was educated in Beaver Crossing, graduating from high school and going on to college to become a teacher. She taught for two years at a country school near Beaver. She married Lyle Zimmer on August 22, 1953 in Goehner. The couple were the parents of three children: Steve, Michael, and Amy. DeLoris was a life-long Lutheran and served her church by teaching Sunday School and Bible school for many years. She was also a member of the LWML. She and Lyle farmed in the Beaver Crossing area all their married life. She was devoted to her grandchildren and was an exceptional volunteer not only in Beaver, but around the state. DeLoris was preceded in death by her parents, Leo and Anna Bluhm; her brother and sister-in-law, Gary and Jeanne Bluhm and brother, Don Bluhm. She is survived by her husband, Lyle; children and spouses: Steven and Bernita, Mike and LaShelle, Amy and Dalen Meisinger as well as six grandchildren and one great-granddaughter; sister Marlene (Loyd) Erks and sister-in-law Betty Bluhm; a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
