Bio
Dennis Ray Walker, age 96, of Leslie; went to be with the Lord on January 7, 2017 at Ozark Health in Clinton. Dennis was born in Boyd, Texas on November 30, 1920 to John Wesley Walker and Jessie Lillian Pitts Walker. In Texas, Dennis was in the house moving business. After moving to Marshall in 1956 Dennis became a builder, constructing homes all over the county, and a farmer, raising cattle, horses, and also had a dairy. Dennis was a meticulous craftsman who loved to work with his hands building anything that was decorative and useful. He was a man who loved to be outdoors. Dennis was a member of the Leslie Assembly of God Church where he served the Lord faithfully, anxiously looking forward to Sunday morning gathering. Dennis is preceded in death by both of his parents, his wife Mary, of 75 years, both of his children; Donald Ray Walker and Helen Louise Walker Rains, Sisters; Florene Brassfield, Ruth Walker, and Zoe Simmons, and Brothers; Jay Walker, Dannie Walker, Hozy Walker, and Terry Walker. Dennis is survived by one sister; Jessie Faye Brady, son-in-law; Raybern Rains and Wife Lena, daughter-in-law; Betty Walker Horton and husband Johnny, four grandchildren; Donna Rains Sessions, Dennisa Gail Rains Reade and husband Chris, Terry Don Walker and wife Michele, and Angie Marie Walker, Seven great grandchildren, fourteen great-great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends who will all mourn his passing. Funeral Services for Dennis will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at Roller-Coffman Funeral Home in Marshall, Arkansas with Bro. Jerry Patton officiating. Visitation will be at 1:00 PM preceding the service. Burial will be at Nubbin Hill.
