Linda Halcomb passed from this earth, today. She was a person who cared deeply for her family and would help anyone who needed it. She was born to Jessie D Pugh and Wilma LouNell Smith McGowan March 10, 1944, in Bloomberg, Texas. At the age of 3, she went to live with her aunt and uncle, who raised her with all the love anyone could ever hope for. She developed a love for horses that would stretch her entire life. She married Elvin (Tex) Russell January 17, 1964 and together they had one son, James. Over the years, they remained good friends. She married Kenneth H Halcomb, February 15, 1972. Kenneth was her husband, partner and life mate. He provided for her every wish, being with her until her last breath. She became wheel chair bound in 2007 after multiple operations to replace her knee joints. She designed and built her dream house in 2012, where she & Kenneth lived until her death. Linda & Kenneth had many life stories and would willingly share them whenever asked. She loved Kenneth, James, horses and fast cars. She loved to talk about the horses and cars that she had enjoyed over the years. She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Kenneth Halcomb; son James Russell, his wife Marsha; grandsons Blake & Preston Russell, sister Dana Meeks, cousin Delores Whitt and special family friends Tyler, Lisa & Stuart Richardson. She was preceded by her 1st husband, Elvin Gordon Russell (2014), her adoptive parents, Boyd Houston Sanders (2001) & Carrie Lee (Teg) Smith Sanders (2005). She will be buried in Moore Memorial, Randol Mill Rd, Arlington. The service will be at 2:00 PM, Monday January 9, 2017, with visitation 12:00 to 2:00 PM at Moore Chapel 1219 N Davis, Arlington. According to her wishes, her adoptive parents are listed here because she would tell you in a quick minute, that Boyd and Carrie Lee were her parents.
