Married first, Nov 19 1867 CZ, Rosalie Kocar Married Apr 28 1917 Valley Co., NE, Frances Pochop Penas History of Czechs in Nebraska, Rose Rosicky, 1929: Perkins and Chase County settlement: In 1893 when Mrs Frances Vancura came with her parents, Mr and Mrs Charles Krchal and the families of Joseph and John Novacek, there were about 40 families living in the vicinity, mostly in sod houses. There had been a corn harvest in 1892, but conditions and crop failures worsened, and people suffered terribly. Many left and at one point only 12 remained. In 1929 there were about 25 families living in the vicinity.
