Bio
Leon L. Urban, 79, of Beatrice, died at Beatrice Health and Rehab on Thursday, December 29, 2016. He was born June 3, 1937 at Chambers, NE and graduated from Chambers High School. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He received his Associates Degree from Casper College in Casper, WY and his Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees from Chadron State College. He owned and operated Urban Dairy in Wessington Springs, SD. He later moved to Crete, NE and then to Beatrice in 2009. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and Nebraska football. Survivors include his children, Herbert Urban, IV of Cody, WY, Larena Urban of Douglas, WY, Frank Urban and wife Kalia of Beatrice, Bonnie Jo Urban of Beatrice and David Urban of Gibbon; one step-son, Leon Garhart of Fairbury; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert, III and Daisy Mae Strong Urban; granddaughter, Cheyenne Kuhn; brother, Arthur Eugene Urban. At his request, cremation has taken place.
