Married Mar 10 1897 ------------------------------------- Mrs. H. Knudsen Passes Away at Ripe Age of 87 Noted for Her Pleasant Personality and devoted Christian Character Mrs. Hannah Knudsen was born in Denmark Sept. 24, 1862, and passed from this life April 16, 1949 at her home near Ord, Nebr., at the age of 86 years, 6 months and 23 days. She came to America in her youth and was united in marriage with Nels Knudsen March 10, 1897. To this union were born two daughters, Mrs. (?) Bertha Knudsen and Mrs. Stella Knudsen Vergin. Her husband, three sisters and two brothers have all preceded her in death. Mrs. Knudsen made the confession of faith in her youth, and lived as a devout Christian all her life. She was of a quiet nature, and often gave testimony of her trust in the Lord. During her recent illness she was waiting to be called home, and the day before her passing said that this would be her happiest Easter. She is survived by her daughters, Bertha, Mrs. Stella Vergin and husband, Warner, all of Ord, and her granddaughter, Mrs. Herman Nass and husband and great granddaughter Ruth Faye, all of North Loup, Bethel Baptist church, besides many other friends, will miss her pleasant smile and sweet Christian life. Funeral services were held from the Bethel Baptist church, Tuesday afternoon at 2:30, Rev. Eugene Olson officiating. Burial was in the Ord City Cemetery.
