Juanita Moody Smith, age 73, passed away suddenly on December 14, 2016. Born on August 28, 1943, in Sullivan County, Tennessee, she was a resident of Columbia since 1994. Juanita devoted 50 years to the LTL transportation industry. Her career began in Kingsport, Tennessee, with Mason Dixon Trucking Lines in 1961 and she retired from Southeastern Freight Lines in Columbia in 2011. Juanita was an active member of Riverland Hills Baptist Church. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, December 29, 2016, at Riverland Hills Baptist Church, 201 Lake Murray Boulevard in Irmo, SC. A service will also be held at Emory United Methodist Church in Kingsport, TN, at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, December 31, 2016. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association at 140 Stoneridge Drive, Suite 210, Columbia, SC 29210, or a charity of your choice.
