Iola was the daughter of Charles Ermis and Anna Kosarek. According to the 1920 US Federal Census, the family lived in Pct 2, Lavaca County, Texas. Children listed on the census were: Albina (18), Charles (16), Rudolph (11) , and Viola (6). She married Charlie Eddleman in 1940
