LOUP CITY — Dorothy Kwapnioski, 75, of Loup City died Monday, Dec. 19, 2016, at Rose Lane Home in Loup City. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Josaphat’s Catholic Church in Loup City, with the Rev. Richard Piontkowski officiating. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery at Loup City. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, with a vigil service to be at 6, all at the church. Dorothy Cecilia (Spotanski) Kwapnioski was born Nov. 12, 1941, at Ashton to Floyd and Gertrude (Kosmicki) Spotanski. She grew up and attended country schools in Sherman County and then attended Loup City High School. On April 8, 1961, she married Lucian Kwapnioski at Loup City. They lived in Loup City. She worked as a CNA at the Sacred Heart Hospital in Loup City; a waitress at the Snack Shop in Loup City; a MA at Rose Lane Home in Loup City and a MA at the Good Samaritan Center in Ravenna. She then retired due to her health. She was a member of St. Josaphat’s Catholic Church and Sodality Rosary. She enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren, listening to polka music and being outdoors. She is survived by her sons and daughter-in-law, Mark of Loup City, Mike and Lori of Loveland, Colo; daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Cody Anglemyer of Loup City, Barb Boyles of Cozad and Sherri and Kirk Skibinski of Ashton; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; brothers, John Spotanski of Grand Island, Ron Spotanski of York, Don Spotanski of Loveland, Colo., Carl Spotanski of Loup City and David Spotanski of Indianapolis, Ind.; sisters, Betty Aalborg of Giltner, Marge Shafer and Pat Spotanski, both of Loveland, Colo., and Carol Mullen of Conroe, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Gertrude Spotanski; husband, Lucian; son, Steve; and infant daughter.
