Bio

Daniel B. Calhoun, 77, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2007 at Beauregard Memorial Hospital. Mr. Calhoun was born Oct. 7, 1929 in Garland, Ark. He served four years in the U.S. Navy. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jessie and Lona Calhoun; brothers, Levi, Amos and Nelon Calhoun, and sister, Alvis Calhoun Cryer. Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Veva June Hawes Calhoun; daughters, Linda Calhoun (Dan) Byles, Patty Calhoun (Mike) Lucas of Rosepine and Lisa Calhoun (David) Broyles of DeRidder; and grandchildren, Leann Lucas, Michelle Lucas, Benjamin Lucas, and Shelby Lucas, all of Rosepine. Mr. Calhoun's funeral will be Saturday, Jan. 13, 2007, at Hixson's Funeral Home in DeRidder with Gary Bankson and Jay Alexander officiating.
