Bio

Janie Julia Slovak Robinson, 89, passed away on December 16, 2016, in Richardson, Texas, after a valiant battle with Alzheimer’s. Visitation will be at 9 a.m., Monday, December 19, 2016, in the J.E. Keever Mortuary of Ennis. Graveside services will follow at 10 a.m. in the St. Joseph Cemetery Mausoleum with Father John Dick officiating. Janie was born in Peeltown, Texas, to the late Vincent and Mary (Hubacek) Slovak. She grew up in Peeltown and attended school there. She later moved to Dallas and worked at Manor Bakery. It was here she met her future husband, Willard Dale Robinson, and they began their life together. She spent her love and time taking care of her family and others and prided herself as an excellent homemaker and amazing cook. Her Czech heritage was evident in her everything she did. Janie was a gift to all who came into her circle of love and light. She made everyone feel her love individually. Janie was a faithful member of St. Pius Catholic church in Dallas for over 60 years and KJZT #25. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Joe Slovak and John Slovak; and sisters: Lydia Miklis, Angie Scraper, and Mary Vitovsky. Survivors include her beloved husband of 65 years, Willard Dale Robinson; son, Dr. Michael Lee Robinson; daughter-in-law, Karon; grandsons, Alex and Nicholas; stepchildren, Ronnie and Carolyn; nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
