Bio

Mrs. Minnie Dell Weaver, 91, of Corsicana, passed away Thursday, December 15, 2016, at Twilight Nursing Home. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Sunday, December 18, 2016, at Corley Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m., Monday, December 19, 2016, at Corley Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Tim Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Chancellor Union Cemetery in Fairfield, Texas. Minnie was born in Keechi, Texas, to the late Martin L. and Minta Elizabeth Alewine. Minnie and her husband owned and operated Weaver’s Exxon station in Fairfield for 20 years. Minnie loved cooking and baking and enjoyed the flowers that her husband grew in their garden. Minnie was an active member of First Baptist Church in Fairfield. She moved to Corsicana in later years to be closer to her daughter. She fought a long hard fight with grace and dignity. She was truly loved by all who knew her and she will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Archie in 1992. Survivors include her daughters, Shanda Vance and husband, Tom, of Corsicana, and Sonia Lingsweiler and husband, John, of College Station; grandchildren: Morgan Lingsweiler, John Logan Lingsweiler, Gunner Lingsweiler and Mariska Lingsweiler, of College Station; brother; Murry Lee Alewine and wife, Gloria, of Pittsburg, Texas; other relatives; and numerous grandpups, of Corsicana.
